A Conversation…

between myself and the admin for V, who is flying out with my boss Tom on a business trip today.

Admin: When is Tom leaving for the airport?

Jane: Hold on, let me ask. (can’t find a Hold button on the phone, drops handset on desk, races after Tom who is marching rapidly away for a meeting, asks him.)

Tom: I don’t know yet, I have to go. I’ll get back to her later.

Jane: (picks up phone) Hi, Tom’s not sure yet. He can get back to you later.

Admin: Okay, is he taking a limo there?

Jane: I have no idea.

Admin: Is he on the same plane as V?

Jane: Yes, they’re on the same flights.

Admin: Do they have the same itineraries?

Jane: (not sure where this is going) Yes, except Tom has a car rental on his, and they have different seats.

Admin: Okay. Same plane, different seats. Is he taking a limo or taxi?

Jane: Uh, I don’t know that. He would have to get back to you.

Admin: Oh, I’m sorry, I just asked you that. Okay, so same plane, different seats. Same plane, different seats. (muttered as if writing it down)

Jane: (OF COURSE THEY’RE IN DIFFERENT SEATS!!! HOW WOULD THEY SQUISH IN TOGETHER IN ONE SEAT!!) How about if I have him call you back when he gets back from the meeting?

Admin: Well, just have him call V, as she wanted to know about the limo.

Jane: Okay.

Admin: Thank you.

(Jane rolls on the floor in laughter.)
