The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place

by E.L. Konigsburg

ONE LINE SUMMARY: 12- year -old Margaret Rose helps her granduncles save the towers they built in their backyard from being demolished.

This is a terrific book. It’s described as a “companion book” to Silent to the Bone which I read years before, and remember liking, although I can’t remember how it relates to this one.

Margaret Rose is a smart, independent kid, but unlike other books in which the author tries to write a smart kid, and ends up with a small adult, Margaret Rose remains firmly a child. I enjoyed the book a lot.
