Blood Lines
by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles
ONE LINE SUMMARY: Bill Slider investigates the death of a music critic.
This series is still enjoyable, but I’ve figured out that my main problem with them is that the author treats her detectives as more stupid than the reader. I had figured out certain crucial plot points as much as 60 pages before Bill Slider did, and the mystery in these books is never “whodunnit” but rather in how long it will take Bill Slider to figure it out. That being said, the puns and humor in these books make them worth reading, even if the mystery isn’t very mysterious.
