Wheat Thins Are Good

Mina prowled around the coffee table. Somewhere above her was the surprising crunch of Wheat Thins, and she was determined to taste the wholesome ingredients made from a special grind of whole wheat flour.

Carefully, Mina eyed her hu-parents. Mommy was busy on the computer, typing away, and Daddy was busy on his computer, yelling and waving his hands at it. That meant he was losing his game, and would be very distracted for a while. Seizing her chance, Mina sprang on her hind legs, grasped the edge of the table with her front paws, and raised her head above the coffee table.

Boop…boop…boop. She slowly cycled her head from side to side as she scanned the table top. Ah-ha! There it was! The delectable Wheat Thins were sealed in a strange, plastic material, but she knew that it was open at one end.

Her eyes widened from the strain, as she stretched her paw toward the bag. There…a little closer…one more tug…

The opening of the bag was now facing her. Quickly, before anyone could notice, she stuffed her face in the bag. Ah, the aroma of fresh Wheat Thins! Crunch, crunch!

“HEY!” someone bellowed. Uh-oh! Lower the scope! Mina dropped to all four legs and lay down hurriedly. She wagged her tail. I’ve been sitting here the whole time, Mommy!

Mina heard Mommy grumble as she put away — oh no, not the Wheat Thins! — and went back to her computer. As soon as the coast was clear, Mina examined the table top again, while in the distance Mommy yelled at Daddy for leaving his Wheat Thins loose.

Sadly, the precious bag of snackies was now too far away for her to reach. But just in case, Mina crept around the perimeter of the table on her hind legs, examining the position of the bag. Mina sighed, and dropped back to the ground.

She curled up for a nap. It was important to rest, because soon…perhaps quite soon…something would happen, and she would once again meet with her beloved Wheat Thins.
